John Lloyd Cruz told PEP.ph he wants a more "relaxed" schedule in showbiz several years from now. The actor admits he had a "toxic" schedule while shooting his box office movie, It Takes a Man and a Woman.
Aside from shooting the movie, John Lloyd also received a lot of endorsement deals, and other acting projects—making him work from 8 a.m.- 2 a.m. the next day.
John Lloyd's stress manifested the night before his movie's premiere. “March 29 ng gabi, kinakabahan ako, natatakot ako... hindi ko alam kung saan nanggagaling ang takot. Napaiyak na 'ko, kinakabahan na 'ko.”
During the movie's presscon, John Lloyd said he wanted an "early retirement" from showbiz, surprising the members of the press. But he clarified that this doesn't mean he'll be completely gone from the entertainment scene.
“Now if I were to explain ang konsepto ko ng early retirement, basically... hopefully, several years from now, within five to 10 years, I'm thinking na more relaxed, mas pili [ang projects], yung pacing. It's more like having the luxury of choice. Kaya ina-associate ko ang early retirement sa quality of life. Yun lang naman ang ibig kong sabihin."
