Ellen Adarna Shares Her Take On The Child Support Conditions She Set For Derek Ramsay

Published on Feb 23, 2026
Actress and model Ellen Adarna has long maintained that child support is one of the most important responsibilities in parenting. She's been vocal about this stance, especially when it comes to her two children, Elias and Liana a.k.a. Lili.
Recently, Ellen addressed claims that her estranged husband, Derek Ramsay, has been a "good provider" to their daughter. In an Instagram Story, she refuted reports from entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin, which she said allegedly spread "misleading" information about Lili's child support. She stressed that "credit should be given to where it is due."
"Last month I told his (Derek) asst. 'no sustento, no Lili. That simple,'" Ellen said (published as is). "I am not demanding anything beyond what is fair - but I will not allow a father to live comfortably just cooling his balls while having little to no contribution to his child - because he gets to see her almost everyday," she further explained (quoted as is from Ellen's Instagram Story).
According to Ellen, Derek provided her with a credit card with a limit of P50,000, which she claimed was not enough to cover the needs of their one-year-old daughter. She also claimed that neither Derek nor his family contributed to the salaries of their five household staff, two of whom care for Lili, even while they were still married.
"I paid for my own staff. I have 5 nannies and 2 are for liana. They only paid for one nanny for liana. I paid for my own groceries. And they did not provide a house for me - i did that myself. Lets not rewrite history," the actress said.
She emphasized that being a "good provider" is about more than words or public image: "Let's stop being delusional and stop branding someone as a 'good provider' when the numbers and reality say otherwise. A real provider doesnt wait to be called out. He gives willingly. He takes initiative. He doesnt rely on words, flexing or public image."

In a now-expired Instagram Story video, Ellen Adarna responded to questions from followers who were curious about their arrangement when it comes to financially supporting their child. She admitted that the alleged lack of financial contribution from Derek did not initially bother her.
"But then, it was my family who knocked some sense into my head over the holidays when we spoke about it. And were like, 'What, wala pa siyang bigay?'" she recalled.
"You know what, kung wala siyang bigay, then don't let him see Lili, simple as that. Don't beg. Don't ask for anything. But if he doesn't give, then no Lili. 'Ano ka sinusuwerte?' Tama lang naman," she added.
On Derek's end, PEP.ph reported that he declined to directly address Ellen's claims in a text message sent to the outlet. "If this brings her peace so be it," he added.

Ellen has long been outspoken on social media, often responding to followers' questions about her views on relationships and co-parenting with her former partners.
She previously shared that John Lloyd Cruz, the father of her eldest son Elias, has been consistent in providing financial support. According to Ellen, he has remained responsible and has even given more than what she initially asked for.
"I gave him a breakdown of his basic needs, just his basic needs, and that's 10,000 pesos max. But he insisted on doubling it," the actress said.
"Because we are co-parenting, I have my obligations and responsibilities for Elias, so it's just fair.. Anything more than P20,000 for me is just not right, morally not right," she added.
