Ellen Adarna Has This To Say About Derek Ramsay Missing Their Daughter's Birthday Party

Ellen Adarna recently celebrated her daughter's birthday with a fun family gathering—and naturally, the Internet noticed how her husband, Derek Ramsay, was missing from the event.

As we all know, Ellen isn't the type to make grand announcements about her personal life. Remember her pregnancy? Everyone was happily surprised when she revealed it after giving birth—a total Ellen move. Still, she's also not one to hold back when it comes to speaking her mind. If there's something she feels she needs to address, best believe she'll say it straight.

So, when one online user asked why Derek wasn't present, Ellen didn't hold back with her response. She simply said in Bisaya, "Sinendan namin siya ng invite. Ewan ko bakit hindi siya pumunta." (translated to Tagalog)

Lili's birthday party was an intimate one, with only Ellen's family and close friends, including her bestie Beauty Gonzalez, present at the scene.

Her straightforward reply quickly made rounds online, sparking curiosity once again among fans about the couple's current relationship status. While Ellen didn't elaborate further, her candid tone definitely caught people's attention—especially since the two have been the subject of breakup rumors in recent months.

It can also be noted that the two posted separate birthday greetings for their daughter, Lili, with no family pictures of them together. Also, there have been no sightings of new pics or videos of Ellen and Derek together, unlike before, and (!) fans noticed that Ellen no longer has 'Ramsay' in her Instagram handle.

Aside from that, neither Derek nor Ellen has made an official statement about the state of their marriage.

Ellen and Derek's romance first captured everyone's attention back in 2021, when they confirmed they were dating after weeks of speculation. The two tied the knot later that same year in an intimate ceremony in Bataan, just months after getting engaged.

Their quite fast-paced but passionate love story became one of the most talked-about and loved celebrity relationships at the time.

Ellen and Derek's chemistry and playful dynamic once amused the Internet—they were that couple who always kept it real. They showed that love doesn't have to fit the mold, making them one of showbiz's favorite modern families.

Derek also formed a close bond with the Elias, Ellen's son with former partner John Lloyd Cruz, and the three were often seen traveling, goofing around, and spending quality time together.

After a couple of years of marriage, Ellen and Derek openly shared that they were trying to have a baby of their own. In 2023, Ellen sadly experienced a miscarriage. "Noong nasa Spain kami, nalaman namin na preggy si Ellen. And then unfortunately, we lost the baby pero at least alam namin na hindi kami baog. First attempt pa lang naman," Derek shared in a press con for his horror film, Kampon.

That same year, Ellen actually shared bits of her preparation for pregnancy. She talked about how she quit smoking and even removed her IUD (intrauterine device). "Next year na ako mabuntis […] One last na lang, and hopefully, it's a girl," she once manifested. "Dragon baby kaya kailangang manganak ako after February 10 [2024] para year of the Dragon, so, naka-schedule 'yan."

That wish came true when Baby Lili arrived in 2024. Since then, the family of four has been out and about, often sharing sweet glimpses of their fun, love-filled life together.

But as of writing, the last time Derek was seen with the family was back in July 2025. By August, Derek had been posting about his retreat in Indonesia, where he trained and took a step back from the world. Amid all of that, Derek continued posting photos of his daughter with messages saying he misses her and that he'll be home soon.
