Frankie Pangilinan had a touching post to honor the memory of the late former president Noynoy Aquino, who passed away on June 24, Thursday.

On June 25, Frankie uploaded on Instagram a heartwarming photo of her young self with Noynoy. In the photo, Frankie was smiling as Noynoy pointed to an embroidered map of the Philippines on his polo shirt.

The picture was accompanied by a lengthy post, wherein Frankie recalled growing up asking Noynoy lots of questions. She also took the opportunity to praise the former president for his values such as integrity and humility.

"I always had too many questions. Thankfully, he likewise had far too much kindness and solemn grace. He’d indulge me and my (surely) frivolous thoughts without ever making me feel like they were invaluable or unimportant. I knew him enough to notice he was often sad of eye."

"Growing up—learning and reading about his work instead of just viewing it from the sidelines—led to far bigger (and at times, frustrated) questions, but fewer opportunities to ask them."

"Today, we do not grieve for presumed perfection. We grieve for a man whose integrity enabled him to recognize his own imperfections and from there, try his best. He did not shy away from criticism because he understood its value. And he was humble. So, so, so humble."

Frankie went on to share how big an influence Noynoy was on her taste in music, also, how he would make sure she always had her stock of a certain classic soft drink in her fridge. Aww.

"On a very personal note, thank you for being so generous with your time. Thank you for the vinyls, for single-handedly encouraging my love for (David) Bowie. Thank you for the Ziggy Stardust. And the Carly Simon. And the Elton John. And for the spare Coca-Cola (dapat classic Coke kasi, e puro diet at zero lang iniinom ni Mama hahaha kaya sa kanya na lahat ng classic) we kept in the fridge."

"I cannot find the words. I am just achingly sorry that several, big-girl questions went unasked. God bless your family, and you, Mr. President."

During his term, former President Noynoy appointed Frankie's father, Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, to be the "Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization." He also worked alongside Noynoy in the Senate and in the Cabinet. Kiko was among those who went to Capitol Medical Center after the Aquino family confirmed Noynoy had died on Thursday.
