Heart Evangelista, Georgina Wilson, Isabel Oli Topbill Fashion Show For Earth-Friendly Shopping Campaign

Stop the use of plastic bags when you shop! Grab this chic eco-friendly bag from your fave department store, and help save the environment, just like your fave celebs.

We all love to shop, but have you ever stopped to consider that, whenever we leave the mall carrying bulky plastic bags filled with goodies, we contribute to the toxic waste that threatens our environment? Fortunately, you can give up plastic, as some companies, including one of your fave department stores, have come up with a solution to this troubling issue.

SM Supermaket launched the SM Green Bag back in 2007--the first of its kind in the country--and it has since become very popular among their customers. The reusable, eco-friendly shopping bag is made of non-toxic material, and has drastically brought down the amount of plastic distributed to shoppers. This year, SM announced that through this campaign, they were able to keep shoppers from using approximately 26 million plastic bags. Imagine the huge impact this little change in our habits contributed to the eco-friendly cause.

The Green Bag was recently re-launched at SM Makati in an event hosted by Miss Philippines Earth 2009 Sandra Seifert. The highlight of the evening was a fashion show that features the creations of local designers Jun Jun Cambe and Don Cristobal, and topbilled by your fave celebs and style icons Heart Evangelista, Georgina Wilson, and Isabel Oli.

The fashion show was meant to prove that the Green Bag (which now also comes in black) can actually be very fashionable and go well with your outfits--no matter what their style. Some of the creations were also made of recycled material, showing that recycling is now one of the best fashion statements you can ever make.
