An audio clip of Kanye West’s alleged meltdown backstage at comedy show Saturday Night Live over the weekend has leaked online, revealing another attack on Taylor Swift.
The rapper was the musical guest on the long-running sketch comedy show on Saturday, and on Monday, reports suggesting West threw a tantrum just before the program started over his dissatisfaction with the set design surfaced.
Sources claimed he threatened to walk off the stage during the live broadcast, but Kanye eventually went on as scheduled, and performed two new songs from his T.L.O.P. (The Life of Pablo) album.
No one seemed to be able to confirm the drama until Wednesday, when an audio clip of the alleged meltdown was obtained by the New York Post.
In the clip, a man who sounds like West rages, "Look at that s**t. They took my f**king stage off of SNL without asking me... Now I'm bummed. That and Taylor Swift, fake a**."
His reference to Swift came days after he name-dropped the pop star in a new track, called “Famous,” which he debuted at his New York Fashion Week show on Thursday. In the song he stated he "made that b**ch famous".
The lyrics refer to the rapper's stage invasion at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when he took the microphone from Taylor as she accepted the Female Video the Year prize and told the audience Beyonce was more deserving of it.
His mention of Swift in the lyrics led to a series of social media attacks, while the singer's representative dismissed Kanye's claims he was given the OK to mention her—by Taylor herself.
Back to the leaked rant: West goes on to compare himself to Stanley Kubrick, Pablo Picasso, Saint Paul the Apostle, and drug lord Pablo Escobar—who was reportedly the inspiration for his new T.L.O.P. album.
