Kathryn Bernardo quashed rumors that she and boyfriend Daniel Padilla have broken up. "Wala, wala kaming problema. Super okay kami. Ewan ko kung saan nanggaling yun," Kathryn said during a Facebook Live Q&A session for one of her endorsements on Sunday afternoon, March 17.
The young ABS-CBN actress hesitated to answer at first, but she chose to entertain the question sent via Twitter. The tweet directly asked the soon-to-be 23-year-old actress to comment about the rumors that she and Daniel—or DJ as fans and Kathryn call him—have split up.
Kathryn addressed the people in the room first. She said, "Sagutin ko ito kasi ang dami kasi nagtwi-tweet. Saan ba galing yung news na yun?"
The actress-entrepreneur then revealed, "Sobrang saya namin ni DJ ngayon. Hindi porke't hindi kami nagpo-post na magkasama kami, hindi ibig sabihin hindi kami okay. Kasi siguro, parang privacy na lang namin yun. Yung iba, siyempre."
"Wala, wala kaming problema. Super okay kami. Ewan ko kung saan nanggaling yun. So, just to be clear, we're okay. Nothing to worry about. At wala, wala talaga ito. I swear to God."
This statement came hours after Daniel promised his unwavering support for Kathryn in the weekly variety show, ASAP. After her special birthday number, Daniel personally greeted his girlfriend.
He said, "Ako ay laging nandito para sa iyo—para sumuporta, para promotekta, at mag-alaga, at pasayahin ka. I love you very much, Bal ko."
2019 AS HER MOST CHALLENGING YEAR
Early in the Facebook Live session, Kathryn talked more about her goals for this year. The Kapamilya star emphasized that she wanted to work on her personal growth for 2019.
Answering the fan question "What do you want to achieve before this year ends?," Kathryn said, "Marami actually... For me, I think this is the most challenging year for me. At the end of this year, gusto ko ma-achieve yung growth ko siguro individually, sa amin ni DJ, alam mo yun?"
"Kasi for the longest time, kami yung magkasama, and this year yung pinaka malaking challenge for me and sa kanya, kasi, alam mo yun? Magkahiwalay muna kami as a love team."
"Yan ang gusto namin ma-achieve, para by the time na magka-reunion project kami, we are both ready individually. And, ewan ko, feeling ko mas buo kami."
Asked what she considered to be "the most important thing" she had done so far, Kathryn pinpointed that to her upcoming film project with GMA-7 actor and former co-endorser, Alden Richards.
"Nag-jump ako at tinake ko yung risk na yun," Kathryn said. "Ewan ko, parang na-happy ako kasi inipon yung matagal na—ilang weeks ko siya inisip, ang tagal ko nanghingi ng signs, kinausap ko mga friends, at ginather ko talaga yung courage na kailangan ko."
"I'm very happy kasi, alam mo yun? I said yes, and sabi ko tinanggap ko itong project na ito with open arms. Gagawin ko siya one hundred percent na kaya ko ibigay. Napa-proud ako sa sarili ko na nagawa ko yun, kasi malayo yun sa comfort zone ko. So, sabi ko, kaya I want to take this challenge, I have to do this for my growth."
