The signals are mixed.

In case you haven't heard yet, Kiana Valenciano and Sam Concepcion have decided to part ways.

On September 18, 2018, PEP.ph published an article where Sam confirms the breakup. In the article, he was also asked if the decision to break up was mutual. His reply suggests that Kiana ended the relationship: “Hindi ko alam kung paano sasagutin yung question na yun kasi parang I’m looking for an answer myself. Hindi ko mabibigyan ng truth; hindi ko pa alam, e. I’m taking it one day at a time.”

A day after PEP.ph reported the breakup, Kiana tweeted a scene from Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (1951). The subtitle on the scene reads, "I'm afraid I can't explain myself, sir, because you know, I'm not myself."

Kiana also shared another scene from Alice in Wonderland on Instagram. The photo shows a lost Alice, and it bears the words, "Hmm. I wonder which way I ought to go." Kiana has disabled comments for this post.

Still, Kiana seems to be keeping everything together. On September 20, 2018, Kiana attended the annual Preview Best Dressed Ball. On the evening of September 21, she was at the Power Mac Center Spotlight in Circuit Makati with her friend Lauren Reid. The two caught the pre-screening of the play Lungs, which stars Jake Cuenca.

Netizens have noticed that Kiana has deleted all of her Instagram posts with Sam on it. Sam, however, has kept their photos on his feed; the latest one was posted last April. The caption reads, "BTS photo from the MV shoot. Kiana’s new video 'MISFITS' premieres tonight. Lucky to be part of this song and video. Proud of you, love. Your music keeps getting better and better."

Rumors of trouble in paradise began to surface when Kiana tweeted last August: "Can I just say, I’m such a hopeless romantic, like [let me] build my career, yeah, but if I don’t have someone to share it with, like.......what’s the point?"

Kiana and Sam admitted they were dating in February of 2017.
