Celebrity love teams are a tried-and-true formula in Philippine showbiz. Think Kathryn-Daniel, Nadine-James, and Liza-Enrique—all of whom started out in the industry as partners, and ended up getting big projects together until they eventually branched out on their own.

Kim Chiu, who's been in the industry since she entered—and ultimately won—the Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition in 2006, also started out in a love team. She was partnered up with Gerald Anderson, another contestant in the hit reality show. Though they started out as a love team, they eventually dated IRL in 2006 before breaking up in 2010.

In Barbie Forteza's latest vlog wherein she interviewed Kim, one of the questions she asked Kim was her opinion on celebrity love teams and how would she compare the ones from before to the ones now.

Kim looked back on her experience starting out in a love team and reminisced about her experience with Gerald as KimErald.

"Ako naman, nag-simula ako sa isang love team as KimErald in PBB. Kasi formula talaga siya in Philippine series, Philippine movies. Tayong mga Pilipino, gustong-gusto natin ma-in love," she answered.

She added: "Pero yung opinyon ko is, nagbago talaga ang love teams ngayon. Kasi dati diba, kayo't kayo lang. Yung parang, kayo yung magka-love team, kayo na sa lahat. Ngayon, pwede ka na umikot. Isa na siyang maluwang na mundo na hindi na masyado nakatago. Kasi lahat tayo, parang natatanggap na natin na, 'Ah, pwede sila mag-pair [up] with ibang tao.'"

Kim noted that netizens and viewers are now more *understanding* of actors and actresses in love teams, and they can freely branch out and have projects with other people if they want to, while still retaining their partnership.

"Understanding na sila, marunong na silang ihiwalay yung real and reel. [It's not always the case] na kapag love team, kayo na talaga for life, magpakasal na kayo, bawal ka manglalaki o mambabae."

Kim added that she thinks being in a love team is the *fastest* way to be successful in showbiz.

"Pag nasa love team ka, mas sisikat ka. Mas mabilis. Kasi dalawang tao kayong magtutulungan umangat kesa ikaw as individual," she stated.

"Kaya kapag nahanap mo yung perfect mong ka-love team, mabilis yung pag-angat mo talaga kasi parang iba yung suporta ng mga tao kapag nasa love team ka. Iba yung tilian, sigawan."

Kim was previously partnered up with Gerald, and together, they worked on several notable movies like First Day High, Till My Heartaches End, and Paano Na Kaya. They also starred in teleseryes like Sana Maulit Muli, My Girl, and Tayong Dalawa.
