Kim Kardashian has shed a little light on why she thinks the fashion industry has finally accepted her—and it has something to do with Kanye West. In an interview with CNN Style, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said that she credits her success in the industry to her hubby.
"I really think that my relationship with my husband Kanye West really changed everything," Kim said. "I mean, back in the day I thought I had the best style. I look back at outfits and I'm, like, mortified."
"I remember one day he [Kanye] brought me Carine Roitfeld's book and was like you should be studying this book. This is like the fashion bible, and I was like 'Who's Carine?'"
"I knew nothing, and he said 'Watch, one day she's going to style you.'"
"Kanye sees what's out there on the streets and just knows how to translate that to something that would look good on me, just helping me to push my limits a little bit and trying new things."
When Kim first started dating Kanye West, rumors were flying that the singer had made her completely "cleanse" her wardrobe and give her a complete style makeover.
And whether his input has been exaggerated or not, you can't help but see the difference in Kim's style (she just LOVES wearing the same thing over and over).
The reality TV star also spoke about how things are changing within the fashion industry, especially when it comes to body shapes. "My body type is not your typical model body type. It's exciting that I feel that designers are seeing different body shapes and styles and are willing to take that risk."
