  • Swell with Pinoy pride once more! Another local primetime teleserye received nominations for one of the most prestigious TV awards: the International Emmys! ABS-CBN’s Dahil May Isang Ikaw received a nomination for Best Telenovela, while 2009 Cosmo Centerfold Sid Lucero (who played Red in the same teleserye) is in the running for Best Actor. • You may admire all-time Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise for doing his own action stunts, for his impressive acting chops, and for his classic good looks. But what’s more amazing about him is he’s such a loving, romantic husband to Katie Holmes. According to the actress, Tom never fails to leave red roses in her room whenever she travels. Lucky girl!

  • As if her circus of a love life isn’t enough of a challenge, Kris Aquino and her family are now fighting for their health! Last week, she and her sons Josh and Baby James were diagnosed with hand-foot-and-mouth-disease (HFMD). Not to be confused with foot and mouth disease, which hits farm animals, HFMD is a viral illness with symptoms of high fever, mouth sores, and rashes on the hands and feet. Let’s hope they get well soon.

  • Can you be friends with your ex? Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift apparently can. Although her romance with Twilight Saga hottie Taylor Lautner was cut short, she said they remain “best friends.”

  • Lookie here Twi-hards! Kristen Stewart (who plays Bella in the Twilight Saga) makes a sexy prelude to her imminent love scene with Robert Pattinson (who plays Edward, like you didn't know) in the big screen adaptation of the last novel in the series, Breaking Dawn. She will play an underage stripper in her upcoming movie, Welcome to the Rileys, set to come out this month. She’d obviously have to show some skin in the movie. Is this a precedent for more daring roles for K-Stew? We’ll see.

  • A 9-year-old schoolgirl from Greenwich, South London wrote a letter to Johnny Depp, whom she addressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, asking for help in “mutinying” against her teachers. Lo and behold, she got her wish! Dressed in his Jack Sparrow costume and accompanied by two “pirates” from the Pirates Of The Carribean: On Stranger Tides (the newest installment from the Pirates franchise, set to begin shooting in June), Depp paid her school a visit, but quipped that they probably shouldn’t start a mutiny that day because of the police outside.

  • She’s fun, she’s fearless, and she struts in her underwear and meat dresses. But before Cosmo cover girl Lady Gaga became fabulousness personified, the performer formerly known as Stefani Germanotta was “painfully shy,” according to her first manager, Bob Leone. It took time for her to overcome her shyness, but her overall transformation from shy teenager to the Lady Gaga was so much worth the effort.

  • Speaking of reinvention, it’s goodbye body art for Kelly Osbourne, who seems to have outgrown her rebellious teenage years. She openly admitted that she got tattoos all over because she knew it would upset her parents, until she realized recently that the tattoos weren’t really part of her personal style!
