Maine Mendoza has been barangay host of noontime show Eat Bulaga's segment "Juan for All, All for One" for a few years now. Unfortunately, part of the struggles of working in different locations in the country includes enduring overwhelming crowds on a daily basis.
In a video posted on Instagram, Maine and the rest of the Eat Bulaga hosts were shown walking the streets of an undisclosed location. While surrounded by cheering fans and a number of personal bodyguards, a stranger was seen inching closer to the 21-year-old star and took a strike on her upper left arm. The blow was fast and unforeseen, and a shocked Maine was heard saying "aray" as she continued on walking while touching her arm in pain.
In the fan-uploaded video, the caption said, "Kaya naman pala masama ang pakiramdam ni Maine, eh. Maghigpit sana ang security ni Maine 'pag naglalakad siya para maiwasan ang masaktan siya. Kawawa naman. Tsk!"
The incident happened during the February 27 episode of Eat Bulaga. Netizens that commented on the post were not certain if the person who assaulted Maine was a man or a woman. It was also unclear if the footage was caught on camera while the segment was airing or during a commercial break. The management of the noontime show has yet to issue a statement about it.
