Marian Rivera, Alden Richards, and Barbie Forteza have had their share of career milestones this year, but they have one more thing to add to the list: all three were honored by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

The three celebrities were recognized at different BIR events and by different offices, with their respective citations highlighting their tax contributions and their efforts to encourage proper tax compliance.

Here's what they were recognized for:

The Celebrities Recognized By The BIR In 2026

Marian Rivera

On October 1, Marian was recognized as one of the Natatanging Taxpayers of BIR Revenue District Office No. 41-Mandaluyong City for the first semester of 2026. The recognition acknowledged Marian's contribution to the district's successful achievement of its revenue-collection target, as well as her responsible tax compliance and contribution to nation-building.

Marian shared photos from the ceremony on Instagram, posing with her plaque and using the hashtag, #PagkilalaSaNatatangingTaxpayer.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time Marian has appeared on the BIR’s taxpayer records. In 2014, she ranked 98th on the agency's published list of Top 500 Individual Taxpayers, with approximately P19 million in regular income taxes paid.

Her latest recognition didn't disclose the amount of taxes she paid or indicate a nationwide ranking.

Alden Richards

Alden, meanwhile, received tax-related recognition from the BIR twice this year. On February 27, the actor and entrepreneur was named the Most Outstanding Taxpayer during the BIR’s 2026 South Luzon Cluster Tax Campaign Kickoff.

During the ceremony, Alden emphasized the importance of transparency, timely tax payments, and responsible citizenship. He also acknowledged how public personalities can encourage others to fulfill their obligations.

In July, Alden received another acknowledgment when the BIR recognized him as one of the country's highest taxpayers for tax year 2025.

The actor expressed gratitude for the recognition while emphasizing that contributing to the nation's progress requires cooperation between taxpayers and government officials.

Barbie Forteza

Barbie was likewise recognized alongside Alden in July 2026, with the BIR acknowledging their tax contributions and efforts to promote proper tax compliance.

For Barbie, the recognition carried a message about how tax payments help support public services. The actress highlighted healthcare, education, and social welfare as examples of government programs funded through tax revenues, emphasizing how individual contributions can benefit Filipino communities.

Part of the BIR's 2026 tax campaign

The recognitions come as the BIR continues its 2026 tax campaign, which puts the spotlight on tax compliance and taxpayer contributions. On February 13, the agency launched its 2026 National Tax Campaign under the theme, "Mahusay na Serbisyo, Katumbas ng Buwis Mo." According to the BIR, the campaign focuses on accurate and timely tax payments, as well as its push for more efficient and transparent public services.

For Marian, Alden, and Barbie, though, the takeaway is a little more straightforward: earning money comes with responsibilities, taxes included.
