Bela Padilla and Martin Tan recently confirmed that they are in a relationship during a brief interview with content creator Johnny K for his series, Meet Cutes with Johnny K. Spotted together at the Legazpi Sunday Market, the two were asked if they were a couple, to which they answered yes, revealing that they have been together for eight months.

Martin generally keeps a low profile and is best known within business and tech circles. But his relationship with the actress, writer, and filmmaker has recently brought him into the public eye.

Martin graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Finance from Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business in California, where he was also recognized as an Accounting Department Scholar. He later earned his Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University in Illinois.

Beyond finance and investments, Martin dipped his toes into the beauty industry in 2017 with Danzei Artillery. At the time, the brand was among the few cosmetics companies in Southeast Asia focused on men’s grooming. That same year, he took the conversation further with a TEDx Talk titled I’m a Dude and I Wear Makeup, where he spoke about men, makeup, and conventional ideas of masculinity.

According to reports, Martin is the son of prominent banking executive Lorenzo V. Tan, who has held leadership positions at several major financial institutions. Throughout his career, the elder Tan has served as president of the Bankers Association of the Philippines, Philippine National Bank, and Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), among others.

Martin co-founded Tenext.ai, an AI company formerly known as Arbolo.ai, in 2024. According to his LinkedIn profile, the company develops AI voice agents that improve how businesses handle customer conversations, making them "more intelligent, more scalable, more human-like."

As Bela shared in their interview with Johnny K, she and Martin bonded over their mutual love for films. When asked about her first impression of him, the actress said their shared interest was one of the things that initially drew her to Martin. "I think it's rare for me nowadays to meet people who actually watch movies that I know also, so I was very, very excited when he started talking about films," she said.
