According to Mika, this project is a story "closest" to her heart. In fact, she began working on it shortly after leaving the iconic yellow house. On Instagram, Mika officially revealed the book titled Lipad ("Fly"), along with behind-the-scenes snaps.
"Hindi naging madali, pero every step was filled with love, hope, and faith. And now, hawak-hawak ko na siya. Something that used to live only in my heart is finally real," Mika shared.
"I keep reminding myself to believe na tatanggapin nyo rin ito with the same love and warmth na binuhos ko/namin dito. This book is not only for kids, kahit anong season ka ng buhay mo ngayon, I know it will find its way to your heart and give you a little resolution," she added.
At its core, Lipad is Mika's way of inspiring children and even adults to keep flying, keep dreaming, and never stop reaching for new heights.
"Kaya sana habang binabasa nyo siya, maramdaman nyo rin yung same magic that carried me through. Sabay-sabay tayong lumipad, and may we never stop flying," Mika said.
The book cover features a young girl with wings, surrounded by nature, illustrated by Jewelle Villarisco.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Mika shared why she chose to write a children's book—she wanted to create something meaningful and lasting for kids.
"By doing that, I can actually give something lasting. Hindi lang isang ngiti habang andun ako, kundi isang aral na maiwan sa kanila, something they can carry with them even if they don't remember me," she explained.
Mika revealed that the books will be given for free to the children she's supporting. For those who wish to purchase a copy, all proceeds will go back to the kids.
"This isn't just about giving a book; it's about planting seeds of hope and lessons that can stay with them forever," she said.
