Back in 2018, childhood BFFs and former Goin' Bulilit stars Kathryn Bernardo and Miles Ocampo opened up about their friendship during their respective guestings on the show Tonight With Boy Abunda. During her interview, Kathryn told Tito Boy that she and Miles grew separately as they got older, but that it didn't mean they weren't friends anymore.
Kasi madami kang makikilala e. And hindi ibig sabihin noon iniwan mo yung tao or something, o kinalimutan.
Miles Ocampo's 2018 interview
Miles' interview on Tonight With Boy Abunda, where she responded to a question about Kath and their relationship, was recently uploaded on the official ABS-CBN Facebook page. As of this writing, it has more than 1.7 views! In the vid, Miles said she had been avoiding the topic, because for her, their relationship was okay.
But after watching her interview with you, siguro nga 'yon yung nangyari na nag-grow nalang kami separately?
Miles said she gave herself time to heal, and added that their 2018 relationship was "sobrang okay": "We may not have the same friendship that we had noong nasa Goin' Bulilit kami, but masasabi ko na yung pagiging special ni Kath sa akin, yung pagmamahal ko sa kanya, nandoon pa rin."
The 2018 video struck a chord with netizens anew because people have been leaving their lengthy *feels* in the video's comments section...with some sharing stories about growing apart and going through ~friendship breakups~.
One commenter shared, "I felt it when she said na hindi ko lang alam bakit. It's just pagkagising mo wala na," while another wrote: "I was once like Miles, best friends turned into strangers with memories. But again time always heals all wounds, and ite-treasure mo pa din yung friendship kasi it was still part of you."
Some added that friends growing apart is normal, while others started tagging their own best friends in the comments.
A few months after their Tonight With Boy Abunda interviews, Miles and Kath had a reunion organized by their Goin' Bulilit friends, where Miles says they had an "iyakan" session! In March 2019, Miles also posted photos with Kath on Twitter to greet her a happy birthday, writing: "Friendship may grow apart, but eventually you'll meet again, and you'll both move forward. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Kath."
