MTV VMAs 2017 Break New Ground With Gender-Neutral Awards

They'll also premiere Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" music video.

Pop music freaks are gearing up for MTV's annual Video Music Awards, which will be held at the Forum in Ingleside, California. Katy Perry is this year's host.

For Pinoys, the show will be broadcast on Monday, August 28, at 7 a.m. with primetime encore at 7 p.m. on MTVph.

"MTVph is seen on Cignal Channel 151, Sky Cable Channel 71, Cablelink Channel 2, Cablelink Digital Channel 100, Dream Satellite Channel 9 and Destiny Cable Channel 71," notes Adobo Magazine.

Fans are expecting performances from Alessia Cara, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Fifth Harmony featuring Gucci Mane, Julia Michaels, Khalid, Kendrick Lamar, KYLE, Logic, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, P!nk (recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award), Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, and Thirty Seconds to Mars. There's also a special collaboration between DNCE and Rod Stewart.

MTV reveals: "Other attendees include Chance the Rapper, Calvin Harris, SZA, DJ Khaled, Ludacris, The Chainsmokers, Tiffany Haddish and so many more."

Aside from the performances, the 2017 MTV VMAs will be remembered for some groundbreaking moves. Time points out, "MTV decided to shake things up this year by abolishing gender-specific categories. Regardless of gender, the nominees are going head to head for Artist of the Year."

Moreover, MTV has added the Best Fight Against the System category, which aims to honor music that's causing critical buzz and sparking insightful discussions.

To cap it all off, MTV will exclusively premiere Taylor Swift's new music video for her new single "Look What You Made Me Do."
