Kwak Dong Yeon may only be 23 years old, but he's been consistently acting on the big and small screen since his early teens. At only 13, he moved to Seoul, South Korea from his hometown Daejeon to pursue the craft. He then landed his first acting role in the family drama My Husband Got A Family in 2012 and won the Young Actor Award at the 2012 Korea Drama Awards for his performance. Since then, he's played a variety of interesting rolesboth supporting and leadthat helped him become one of the most recognizable character actors in the Hallyu scene.

The plot: It's Okay To Not Be Okay stars Kim Soo Hyun as Moon Gang Tae, a caregiver who spent most of his life taking care of his older brother with autism. Kwak Dong Yeon had a guest-starring role in the drama and appeared in three episodes as Kwon Ki Do, the eccentric son of an influential assemblyman who is diagnosed with manic syndrome.

The plot: Never Twice is Kwak Dong Yeon's first-ever lead drama role! He plays Na Hae Joon, the rich and conceited chaebol heir to a hotel conglomerate. The drama focuses on the guests of the charming Paradise Inn which happens to be right across the street from Hae Joon's family's swanky five-star hotel.

5. My Strange Hero (2018)

The plot: Kang Book Soo (Yoo Seung Ho) is wrongly accused of school violence and is expelled from high school. Years later, he gets invited back to his high school where he plots revenge on those who turned against himhis first love Son Soo Jung (Jo Bo Ah) and his former best friend Oh Se Ho (Kwak Dong Yeon).

Kwak Dong Yeon plays Hae Sung's younger brother Sung Hae Chul.

The plot: Ko Dong Man (Park Seo Joon) and Choi Ae Ra (Kim Ji Won) are childhood best friends with big dreams. Now in their mid-20s, both of them are challenged when their lives don't go as planned. Kwak Dong Yeon only appeared in Fight For My Way's first episode but boy was it memorable! In the coming-of-age drama, he plays Kim Min Goo, Ae Ra's asshole boyfriend who leaves her for another woman.

9. Moonlight Drawn By Clouds/Love In The Moonlight (2016)

The plot: Moonlight Drawn By Clouds (aka Love In The Moonlight) is Kwak Dong Yeon's breakthrough role! It is a gender-bending historical drama that starred Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung. In the drama, Dong Yeon plays the skilled swordsman Kim Byung Yeon and is best friends with Crown Prince Lee Yeong (Park Bo Gum). Fun fact: Bo Gum and Dong Yeon became super-close while filming the drama and are best friends up to this day!
