On August 16, we witnessed two international acts in one night as sultry Canadian songstress Nelly Furtado and rap-rock group The Gym Class Heroes both rocked the Smart Araneta Coliseum's The Big Dome.
The Gym Class Heroes took the stage first, pumping up the audience with their infectious music and crazy antics. Dreadlocked and heavily tattooed lead singer Travie McCoy led fans in singing "Billionaire", "Fighter", and "Stereo Hearts". The latter, which featured a vocal track by Maroon 5's Adam Levine, had us wishing that the hot pop-rock vocalist were onstage in front of us, too. (Fortunately, that wish will come true on September 18--count on us to be there when it does!)
Nelly Furtado made a grand entrance with her feisty single, "Maneater". She shared the stage with a champion hoop dancer from Arizona and Eunice from local band Gracenote, with whom she sang a slowed-down version of her hit debut single "I'm Like A Bird". Nelly shook her celebrated booty onstage, all while looking sensational in all black (read our Star Style story on her here!) She dedicated her new single, "Spirit Indestructible", to the flood victims of the recent monsoon, who stayed strong in the face of recent calamities.
Also spotted in the crowd were Kelly Misa, Cristalle Henares, Rhian Ramos, KC Montero, Kat Alano, and Chicosci's Miggy Chavez.
