Unfortunately, Nikki did not make it to the Top 20 when she competed in Vietnam. But, fellow Filipinos did not see it as a defeat but rather a redirection for the beauty queen.
Another fan also reached out to Nikki through the comments section and conveyed words of affirmation for the 19-year-old beauty queen. "You deserve more. [...] Life has another plan for you. So much love from Peru...," the comment read.
Some also think that Nikki is overqualified for MGI. One post read, "nikki de moura is overqualified for miss grand international so she should be MISS UNIVERSE!"
One netizen commented, "Ehhh Pang MISS UNIVERSE KA TALAGA!" indicating that the beauty queen has the potential to vie for a Miss Universe title.
Nikki is a Brazilian-Filipina who was born in Brazil. She decided to move to the Philippines in 2016 to enter the modeling industry. Ever since she came to the PH, she has been trying many things that better her experience as a model and as a beauty queen.
In fact, she has been competing in pageants since she was a young teen! In 2019, she won the title of Miss Teen Philippines 2019 at just 15 years old, making her officially a beauty queen.
Also, Nikki is one of the few Filipina beauty queens who chose to embrace her naturally curly hair during competitions. She sported different hairstyles with her bouncy curls during her MGI stint and fans adored her for it!
Since Miss Grand International began, no Philippine candidate has ever won its crown. However, some Filipina contenders made it as first runner-ups in the said competition, namely Nicole Cordoves in 2016 and Samantha Bernardo in 2020.
