It's been a joyous day all across the UK and the wider world today, after Prince Harry finally announced his engagement to Suits actress, Meghan Markle. And following an official statement from Clarence House, a photocall in which we caught a glimpse of the ring (which was a beaut, naturally) now the couple have spoken to the BBC in an official interview.
And of course, during the interview Meghan and Harry were quizzed on how the engagement came about. All we knew from the initial statement was that Harry had proposed "in London earlier this month," but the pair shared more details with the public about what happened, and it will warm even the coldest of hearts.
The couple had been cooking a roast chicken when Harry got down on one knee, managing to take Meghan by surprise despite all the speculation surrounding them.
Meghan described it as "just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic.
"He got on one knee," she added, giggling.
And by the sound of it, there wasn't a doubt in Meghan's mind as to whether she would say yes. "As a matter of fact, I could barely let you finish proposing," the actress revealed. "I was like 'can I say yes now?'"
Oh, my heart.
Meghan was so carried away by the romantic gesture, in fact, she didn't even think about the ring. "She wouldn't let me finish," said Harry. "There were hugs and I had the ring in my hand and I was like, 'Can I give you the ring now?' and she said, 'Oh yes, the ring!'"
In typical Harry style, the thing that was most important to him about the proposal was that it was private. "It was a really nice moment, just the two of us," he told BBC reporter Mishal Hussain, who carried out the interview.
And giving an insight into just how loving the relationship is between the couple, Harry spoke openly about his feelings towards his fiancée.
"The fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was sort of confirmation to me that everything...all the stars were aligned.
"Everything was just perfect," he said. "This beautiful woman just tripped and fell into my life."
I can't be the only one shedding actual tears over how romantic this is, can I?
