This Pinay Shares How She Became An SB19 Fangirl In The Pandemic

In the ~normal~ world, Leonora, 36, started low-key stanning five-piece P-pop group SB19 when their 2019 single "Go Up" blew up online. But then the pandemic hit, and a lot of us found new activities and hobbies to cope with the lockdownsand it was the same for Leonora. When her company decided to enforce work from home for their employees, she saw it as an opportunity to go on a deep dive into knowing SB19 even more.

Because of her spare time, Leonora "started to watch their interviews, guestings, performances, covers, and especially their vlogs." "Doon talaga ako na-hook," Leonora tells Cosmopolitan. "Sabi nga ng ibang A'TIN 'pag nag-start ka na mag-watch ng mga vlogs nila, there's no turning back and that's true."

Leonora, whose bias is main dancer Ken ("I like his moreno skin"), has since bought official and unofficial merch "without hesitation" and is an active member of the A'TIN online community when it comes to organizing donation drives, streaming goals, and more! Leonora gushes, "Nakaka-proud maging part of this fandom, kasi napakamatulungin ng mga tao. And A'TIN are not just friends, but we are family."

But all these purely online interactions are making Leonora regret not stanning SB19 more deeply before the pandemic. She says, "I'm hoping someday makita ko sila personally and maka-attend ako ng live concert." But in spite of never seeing the boys in person, Leonora says stanning SB19 in the pandemic was an amazing experience "because I got to know more about P-pop music, and I discovered na mayroon isang P-pop group na kayang makipagsabayan sa world-class talent."

Here's to hoping Leonora gets to be part of their ~blue ocean~ one day! To know more about Leonora's love for SB19, here's Episode 32 of Fangirl Diaries below:
