Before she became an award-winning actress and FHM's Sexiest Woman, Jennylyn Mercado started out as one of the contestants in GMA-7's artista search, StarStruck, in 2003. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and check out Jennylyn’s most memorable films in the past decade.
So...Happy Together (2004)
Who could forget the love team of Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras? Say That You Love Me was the first film the former flames starred in.
Super Noypi (2006)
In this big-budget sci-fi/fantasy/action film, Jen transformed into a Lara Croft-esque superwoman from the year 2075. She starred alongside teen royals like John Prats, Sandara Park (before Korean Pop superstardom), and of course, Mark Herras.
Rosario was Jen's breakout movie—and she needed that, so people could take her as a serious actress. She embodied the grace and elegance of a 1920s Filipina when she played Rosario, Manuel Pangilinan's grandmother. This period drama earned Jen her first-ever Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences, Inc. (FAMAS) nomination.
English Only, Please (2014)
English Only, Please catapulted Jen to superstar status. Very few actresses have won acting awards for a romcom and Jen is one of them. She, alongside her leading man Derek Ramsay, earned the top acting awards during the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival.
