Former beauty queen Venus Raj recently remembered her humble beginnings in an Instagram post.
Sharing a side-by-side photo of herself in college and in the pageant scene, Venus wrote, “I am posting this to encourage all of us to never look at a person [based on] who he/she is at the moment; instead, look at a person [based on] who he/she can become.”
Venus shared that the photo on the left was taken when she was a college freshman. “I had dreams, but never thought that those small dreams would flourish into reality.”
She continued, “I had no idea that one day, I would represent the country on the international stage.”
Venus added, “God is in the business of transforming lives. Never underestimate how God can transform yours. He can write better and bigger stories.”
Venus became a household name after she was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Universe in 2010. She represented the country during the Miss Universe 2010 pageant held in Las Vegas, ending up as a fourth placer.
Her Q&A answer became a trending topic on Twitter after Venus was asked by actor William Baldwin, “What was the mistake that you made in your life and what did you do to make it right?”
To which Venus replied, “You know what, sir, in my 22 years of existence, I can say that there's nothing major major problem that I've done in my life because I'm very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So thank you so much that I'm here. Thank you, thank you so much!"
