What Will They Name The New Royal Baby?

According to sources, it's not going be Diana.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge won't call their new baby girl Diana, a friend has claimed.

The new princess was born at 8:34 a.m. on May 2 and a close friend of the royal couple has said they are unlikely to use the baby's name to pay tribute to Prince William's late mother.

The insider told PEOPLE magazine: "I think they're more traditional than that. I would think they would go with a more royal name. I love the idea of Alice.

"I wouldn't read anything into [them not using Diana]—just that they'll go for a royal name."

"Charlotte" is currently the favourite name for the royal baby, who is fourth in line to the throne. Alice is second favorite.

Prince William, Kate Middleton, their 21-month-old son Prince George, and the newborn are now at Kensington Palace, where they have received visits from the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall as well as the Middleton family—Kate's parents Michael and Carole and sister Pippa.
