'Wonder Woman 2' Might Involve '80s Fashion And The Return Of [SPOILER]

Hope with all the might of the Amazons that these rumors come true.

Given that the first Wonder Woman movie made more than $700 million (over P35 BILLION!) worldwide, it's inevitable that Gal Gadot's Diana will return for another adventure. What kind of adventure remains to be seen—will she smash the patriarchy in the present day? Hang out with her Amazon sisters on Themyscira?

According to new details from Screen Rant, it's neither of these things, but it still sounds pretty cool. The website reports that the sequel will be set during the 1980s, with Diana battling the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Ideally, this would also mean that Diana will have to get outfitted in ridiculous '80s fashion that she'll hate, though at least they'll be slightly more practical for fighting than the 1910s dresses she tried on in Wonder Woman.

More importantly, Screen Rant reports that Chris Pine, who plays Diana's love interest Steve Trevor, will return for the sequel, despite the fact that— spoiler alert—he exploded in the first movie. As I have noted before, however, the fact that you never actually see his dead body means he could still be alive and kicking somewhere. Maybe that explosion was actually a portal to another dimension! We just don't know, so maybe Steve and Diana will both live to make out another day.
