Jisoo's Agency Breaks Silence Amid Serious Allegations Involving Her Brother

Blackpink's Kim Jisoo has reportedly distanced herself from her older brother, Kim Jung Hoon, following reports that he was arrested on April 15 by the Seoul Gangnam Police Station over allegations of forcibly molesting a female internet broadcaster.

According to multiple South Korean media reports, the alleged incident began after Jung Hoon purchased what was described as a "date ticket" worth around three million KRW (approximately 2,200 USD). He then met the victim before bringing her to his residence in Seoul, where the alleged incident is said to have taken place.

In the full statement published by Soompi, Jisoo's agency Blissoo clarified that "Jisoo has lived independently for years" and is "not in a position to be aware of or involved in the private matters of the individual in question."

They also addressed rumors linking her brother to the company, explaining that while there may have been minimal help during early discussions, it never went beyond that. As stated, "during the preparatory stages of establishing Blissoo, the artist did receive limited advice and assistance from family members in the form of relaying communications during discussions with relevant parties. However, at no point—then or now—have family members received compensation from Blissoo or participated in any management or decision-making processes."

The agency further emphasized that Jung Hoon has "no legal or managerial ties to Blissoo," and warned that they will pursue "all available civil and criminal legal action without delay" against those spreading defamatory content, using Jisoo's name in unrelated matters, or publishing unverified claims.

Jisoo debuted in 2016 as part of Blackpink with "Whistle" and "Boombayah," and from there, it was a straight climb to global fame. By 2024, she officially stepped into her own era, launching her label Blissoo after all four members chose not to renew their individual contracts with YG Entertainment.

While Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa focused on expanding their music careers internationally, Jisoo built her own lane and explored acting. Even before her idol career fully took off, she appeared in the 2015 drama The Producers. But her real shift into leading roles came in 2021 with Snowdrop, where she starred opposite Jung Hae In.

In 2025, she kept the momentum going with Newtopia, a romantic fantasy series released on Prime Video. That same year, she also joined the film Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy, working alongside Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo Seop, and Chae Soo Bin—basically a stacked cast of major K-drama names.

More recently, she starred in Netflix's limited series Boyfriend on Demand with Seo In Guk, adding another high-profile project to her growing list.

It was also in Boyfriend on Demand, released this March, that rumors began circulating online claiming that Jisoo spent millions to remove her brother as the head of management in the credits. However, according to reports from Maeil Business Newspaper, this wasn't the case—Netflix clarified that it was simply a platform error and "immediately corrected it."

While Jisoo has not directly spoken about the situation, some online reports claim that her family may have distanced themselves from her brother Jung Hoon as early as May 2025, when the first allegations surfaced.

Back then, an anonymous post on the community app BLIND accused Jung Hoon of secretly filming a sexual encounter without consent and allegedly possessing illicit recordings involving other women—claims that quickly spread online and drew serious concern but remain unverified.

Then on April 19, just days after Jung Hoon's arrest, a woman identifying herself as his wife came forward with separate allegations of domestic violence during their marriage. To support her claims, she shared photos she said showed bruises and injuries on her arms, thighs, and face, along with a handwritten letter describing what she alleged to be ongoing abuse, including manipulation, monitoring, and intimidation. These claims have not been independently verified as of writing.
