Most of the time, it's K-pop idols who come up with songs dedicated to their fans. Their songs are messages to their avid followers who continuously shower them with love and support. But fans can write songs for their faves too—just like what Chris Cantada did!
Chris was the drummer of the Platinum Award-winning Pinoy band Sponge Cola, and is the content creator behind YouTube channel Chris Cantada Force. He is also a certified TWICE fanboy. In fact, he has written a love letter in the form of a song for TWICE—and it's specifically dedicated to Jeongyeon.
The entertainer collaborated with other musicians who are also ONCEs (fans of TWICE). This adds more depth and emotion to the song, which you'll surely hear and feel once it's out. Conrad Javier strummed the guitar, Inky De Dios played the keyboard, Hazel Faith sang backing vocals, and Joey Santos acted as the track's producer while sound engineer Angee Rozul polished up the recording.
Chris Cantada's plans for TWICE's Fan Meet In Manila
According to Chris, the song was supposed to be released later this year. However, when the food retail brand OISHI announced that they would be bringing the girl group to Manila, he thought releasing it to coincide with their arrival would be the perfect timing. So, he's releasing the song exactly a week before TWICE performs in Manila on June 1, 2024.
And there's no better title for the song than "Once," right? "Once" will be released on all music streaming platforms at *midnight* on Friday, May 24, 2024. Aside from that, Chris is also releasing a Korean version of the single. This will be his first time to sing in Korean, so stay tuned for it! TWICE, who are endorsers for OISHI, will be coming to Manila for their SNACKTacular Fan Meet on Saturday, June 1 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
