Charming visuals, energetic performances, and fun personalities—we already know these things about the rookie K-pop girl group, UNIS. Whether you intentionally watched their content, or you just randomly encountered their videos in TikTok, one thing's for sure: it's hard to resist these talented girls. What more if we tell you some interesting things we learned about them during their recent media conference in Manila? Now, you're in a treat for your EverAfter (their fandom name) starter pack! *wink *

Despite the bad weather brought on by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (Trami), the octet was warmly welcomed in the country by members of Philippine media on October 25, ahead of their "UNIS In CURIOUSland" fancon in Manila and Cebu. Hyeonju, Nana, Gehlee, Kotoko, Yunha, Elisia, Yoona, and Seowon have shared some of their wonderful memories and dreams as a group in the future.

Everything we learned about UNIS during their UNIS In CURIOUSland press con:

1. First of all, they are very caring and compassionate.

UNIS' leader Hyeonju started the event by expressing her gratitude to the press for coming despite the inclement weather. She then continued by announcing that UNIS will be donating a portion of their fan con's income to the families affected by Typhoon Kristine. Seeing the onslaught of the typhoon, their initiative will be a big help to many of our kababayans. Thank you, UNIS!

2. They have a lot in store for their fan con.

Like their EverAfters, the group is equally as excited for their first-ever fancon. Elisia revealed that the members often asked her and Gehlee for some Tagalog words as part of their preparations. (ICYDK: Elisia and Gehlee are full Filipinos! Hyeonju is Filipino on her mom's side.) She also hinted at solo stages for their fans to look forward to. Meanwhile, Seowon said that it would be their first time to perform songs from their album. *exciting!*

3. UNIS' most memorable experience (so far) is their fan meeting in the Philippines.

Earlier this year, UNIS already visited the country for their fan sign tour. Gehlee recalled the unforgettable memory as they felt so much warmth and comfort from all the love, cheers, and support that they have received and are still receiving from their Filipino fans.

4. They value the importance of rest.

Yoona said that to perform better in front of the fans, it is important to have time for rest. She spends her personal time taking rest. What else can we say? We totally agree!

5. They wish to collaborate with our Nation's Girl Group, BINI.

UNIS previously had the chance to do a cover of BINI's hit "Pantropiko". Elisia said that it would be very interesting for a K-pop and P-pop group to come and work together on a new song. Now, we need you to join us in manifesting that UNIS x BINI collab! *fingers crossed*

6. They balance school and idol life *very* well.

UNIS' maknae Seowon has her own way of relieving stress and that is to talk with her friends and classmates each time she goes to school. Yoona said that they find no difficulties in balancing school and work because they both enjoy their time as students and as artists.

7. They've overcome cultural differences.

Coming from different countries, Gehlee said that there were a lot of differences in the beginning. But nowadays, they're more curious about getting to know the culture of each other. "There's something beautiful in UNIS that highlights the differences in our culture and how well we can mix together as diverse colors of the rainbow," Gehlee added.

8. The older members take care of the maknae line in a *very cute* way.

Hyeonju said that it's very easy to take care of the younger members, they just need to tell them that they are pretty and beautiful, and they will really listen well. Aww!

UNIS wrapped up their media conference with group and individual photo time as well as performances of their songs "Curious" and "Poppin'." Check out this thread about UNIS' media conference last October 24, 2024:
