Xdinary Heroes passed through my TikTok feed quite a few times last year but TBH, I’ve never fully immersed myself in them. All I know is that they’re a rock band formed by a bunch of really talented (and good-looking!) guys who are so passionate about what they do—and the content about them online proves just that. Especially when you witness them perform live! I got the chance to watch their Break The Brake concert last March 23 at the New Frontier Theater and all I can say is just…wow.

Just kidding, I actually prepared my ~*feels*~ for this story! Here’s a look back at all the times Xdinary Heroes showed they were extraordinary during their first-ever solo concert in Manila.

1. When they changed music genres during the setlist.

Hear me out: If there’s a band that can smoothly transition from energetic rock songs to soulful ballads and back, that would be Xdinary Heroes. The six members’ energy was off the charts and they could control the vibe when the performance calls for it, may it be a head-bopping number or an emotional track. Their setlist included "Freddy," "Come Into My Head," "KNOCK DOWN," "Checkmate," "Dear H," "Good Enough," and "Paranoid,” among others.

2. When they interacted with fans while singing and playing musical instruments.

It takes a LOT of sheer focus when you’re doing two different things at the same time like belting out a song while playing the drum, piano, or guitar. But to hype the crowd while doing those? Only Xdinary Heroes! Gunil, Jungsu,Gaon, O.de, Jun Han, and Jooyeon went to the different parts of the stage to interact with Villains (their fans) and gamely posed when they took photos of the band.

3. When they performed DAY6 and Stray Kids’ songs.

Their sunbaenims (seniors) would be so proud! Xdinary Heroes did an amazing cover of their labelmates’ hits (ICYDK, all three are under JYP Entertainment) including "Hellevator" by Stray Kids and "Shoot Me" by DAY6. If you want more, here’s another cover featuring DAY6’s "Zombie" and "Time Of Our Life":

4. When the fans’ screams were sooooooo loud.

In a good way! I’ve been to many concerts before but Xdinary Heroes’ Break The Brake in Manila is in my top 3 list of events with the loudest screams by fans. And mind you, it was consistent all throughout the night: From the moment the JYP intro video was flashed on the screen to the time when the boys bid goodbye!

5. When they appreciated Filo Villains’ presence and efforts.

Nothing like seeing your faves admire their concert leg in your country :> They even described Manila as the best! "Thank you so much for preparing something beautiful like this. The reason why six of us can stand here is all because of you, villains. We would love to see you, guys, watching us grow together," said member O.de. Aww!
