Want to be a K-pop idol? The stars might be aligning for you as YG Entertainment is about to hold its global auditions in the Philippines.
On November 24, 2024, one of the top K-pop companies in South Korea will be opening its doors to aspiring K-pop celebrities. The audition will be held at Zero Studio in Quezon City at 1 p.m. Auditionees must be born between 2006 and 2013 (that's around 11 to 18 years old). Plus, they must choose to highlight only one category during their application: vocal, rap, dance, or appearance categories.
Before you reach the studio for the November 24 audition, you must first be able to pass their pre-selection processes. Auditionees can pre-register via their website, www.yg-audition.com, until November 10, 2024. Note that the pre-registration may close without prior notice, so prepare those photos and video applications and send them ASAP to YG!
By November 20, YG Entertainment will send out confirmation emails notifying selected auditionees that they are set to participate in the second audition. Only selected applicants will advance to the second audition, which will be held at Zero Studio in Quezon City.
This is not the first time that the company is holding auditions in Manila. Last April 2023, they also had a one-day audition at the same studio as mentioned above. At the time, they were looking for aspiring idols born between 2004 to 2012.

Who is YG Entertainment?
If you're not familiar with it, YG Entertainment is the K-pop agency responsible for several chart-topping K-pop groups like 2NE1, BIGBANG, BLACKPINK, TREASURE, and more.
It was founded in 1996 by music producer Yang Hyun Suk. Until now, the YG big boss is taking point in the musical direction of some of the company's musical releases. Aside from his expertise, YG is known for honing the biggest K-pop stars across generations. Case in point: 2NE1.
The four-member girl group took over the Hallyu wave with their songs that are *still* total bangers even up to this date. To name a few, they have "Fire," "Come Back Home," and our favorite, "I Am The Best."
After the group went inactive in 2016, the four members, CL, Minzy, Bom, and Dara, continued their solo careers. But this 2024, the quartet had a big comeback with their world tour called, "Welcome Back." They commenced the tour with a three-day concert in Seoul from October 4 to October 6, 2024.
And in case you haven't heard yet, 2NE1 is also coming to the Philippines soon! The girl group will be coming to Manila on November 16, 2024, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. This will be their first show in the country since their last Manila show in 2014.
Aside from 2NE1, other YG groups are also making their return. With that said, BLACKPINK is making a group comeback in 2025—and get this: they're confirmed to have a world tour as well. Exciting times ahead for YG and the fans!
