We've always had an idea that these two are set to serve in the military already. But now, it's official: SEVENTEEN's Hoshi and Woozi will be starting their mandatory military enlistment in 2025.

PLEDIS Entertainment announced on July 8, 2025, "SEVENTEEN members HOSHI and WOOZI will be starting their mandatory military service starting this September." Woozi will be on active duty starting September 15, and Hoshi will immediately follow on September 16.

ICYDK, the two were paired as a sub-unit, HxW (Hoshi x Woozi). Just a few months before they enter the military, Hoshi and Woozi are set to embark on their first fan concert, titled "WARNING." It will kick off in Seoul from July 11 to 13 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium. The three-day fancon in Seoul will also be live-streamed for global CARATs.

A week after that, the pair will be rocking Busan's Sajik Gymnasium on July 19 to 20. By August, their fancon tour will come to an end with a two-day performance in Gwangju Women's University Unversiade Gymnasium.

SEVENTEEN recently had their comeback for their 10th anniversary, with the album Happy Burstday. So, aside from their fan concert, Hoshi and Woozi will be gracing their group's Yizhiyu video call fan signing event as their last official activity before enlistment. Pre-recorded content of the duo is expected to be released online throughout their military service.

PLEDIS Entertainment concluded its statement by asking for fans' support for Hoshi and Woozi's military service. "We ask for your continued love and support for the artists and best wishes for their safe and healthy return. We will also strive to provide our artists with all the necessary support during this time. Thank you," the agency wrote.

SEVENTEEN's Military Enlistment

SEVENTEEN has been one of the most loved K-pop boy groups across generations. Their close bond as friends beyond their idol life, well-rounded talents, and charming personalities has led them to the global success they have at the moment.

And so, each military enlistment announcement feels like a breakup for some fans (a breakup of two years, LOL). The first member to enter the military was one of their eldest members, Jeonghan. His enlistment was announced in August 2024 and began in September of the same year.

SEVENTEEN's enlistment has been widely anticipated, as several members are approaching the age of 30—the suggested age for starting mandatory military service. South Korean men are mandated to train as reserve military officers before they turn 35 years old.

The latest member to enter military service was Wonwoo. He started his mandatory military service last April 3, 2025, resulting in him missing the promotional activities for their 5th album Happy Burstday in May 2025. But thankfully, Wonwoo was still included in the pre-recorded music video and other content for it.

SEVENTEEN debuted in 2015 and rose to fame with their top tracks "Aju Nice," "Don't Wanna Cry," and more. Now, they're conquering the world with their solo activities like attending fashion weeks, bagging endorsements, and still going on tour for their fans. They were the first K-pop artist to do a sold-out concert at the Philippine Arena Stadium with their Follow Tour in Bulacan.
