Manila plays host to a massive celebration by way of Escola Brasileira de Capoeira’s (EBC) annual Batizado and Brazilian Party during the week of February 6-10 at the Rockwell Tent, Powerplant Mall.
In cooperation with the Embassy of Brazil, Havaianas, and Powerplant Mall, EBC’s Professor Fantasma leads a culture push towards the land famed for Samba, Futebol, Martial Arts, Food, and Fashion.
One of the highlights: the Carnival on February 8, Friday. This year’s international lineup combines with iconic local talent as Carnaval features Planet Zips, EBC Philippines, Escola de Samba de Manila, Eileen Sison and Guaraná, Nykó Macá and GAFIEIRA!, Brigada, Imperatriz Filipinense, including inflown Samba professors and performers Brazilian DJ Rastafly and Banda Alegria Brasil (Macau). Previous parties have enjoyed an average 3,000pax headcount.
Booths with Brazilian and Filipino items, instruments, apparel, food & drink will be available throughout the events for guests to purchase, creating the feel of a voyage to Brazil as one strolls through the fairs on the streets of Rio or Recife.
