How To Make Great Choices

Decisions, decisions. Having trouble making up your mind? Here are a few tips to help you out.

1. Ditch The Pro And Con List

“The list can subvert your intuition,” says Susan Piver, author of How Not To Be Afraid of Your Own Life. Next time you’re about to make a decision, how about just trying to follow your heart and trusting your guts?

2. Take The First Step

Thinking of moving out? Piver suggests reading the real estate ads. “Then you’ll either realize, ‘Hey, this could work,’” she says. Then, make the next move, and so on. “If you do it one step at a time, the decision makes itself,” says Piver.

3. Don’t Wait For the Thunderbolt

Sometimes, you just have to take the leap—because the truth is, you can never be 100 percent certain about any decision. Instead, look at each choice as an adventure—because that’s what it is.
