There's something tenderly fleeting about the connections you don't see, but will always feel. I felt it especially in September—the memories that blur at the edges yet stay vivid, the moments that stretch just a little too long, and the goodbyes that make you smile at the thought of a next time. Mostly, it's the people who let you be your own person but still show up to make life lighter.

I saw that same thread in our two cover stars last month. We let them shine on their own terms, yet their duo energy naturally connected within a shared space—not in a televised house, but across Cosmo's digital pages. Seeing them bookend our season was a big win for us, and it set the tone for what comes next: a time to be earnestly real.

This October, welcome to The Era Of Unfiltered Beauty—our annual Beauty Month, as real as your life. Inspired by our readers (and the times we live in), we're celebrating honesty, openness, and the loud confidence that comes from owning who you are.

We actually listened. This year's theme—and everything we're creating from it—is all you, based on our reader survey. (This is where your votes go. 😉) Cosmo Girls are over impossible standards: you want skin that looks like skin, makeup that doubles as care, and treatments and tools that actually work. In the end, beauty—like the connections that ground us—isn't always something you see, but something you feel. September left us with a sense of strength from belonging; October is for us to celebrate each other's unfiltered selves.

Last month was full of stories that felt real and inspiring. Mika Salamanca graced our cover with her reflections on growth and presence. ""I've done so many bad things before—not just once, not just twice—ang daming beses na... Sobrang daming beses na pwede ka pang matumba [at] magkamali. So, ang importante kung paano ka matututo at paano ka tatayo ulit para patunayan sa mundo na hindi ikaw yung pagkakamali mo," she shared.

Meanwhile, Brent Manalo, our latest Cosmo Crush, reminded us that confidence and authenticity never go out of style. "I would always say this, the entire world could doubt me, question me, look down on me, but I would never do that to myself. No matter what people say about me or what their opinions or expectations of me, what matters is my inner voice and what I tell myself every single day," he said, when asked why Mika describes him as a "secured guy."

Mika was honestly the bubbliest cover star I've met so far. She felt completely at home in our office and was quickly joking and vibing with the Cosmo team right as she arrived for her shoot. I could see how her easygoing personality complemented her PBB duo partner, Brent, who made the editors swoon on set with his mysterious, sultry, yet grounded energy.
