5 Things To Do On Your Hong Kong Holiday

Traveling to Hong Kong this July and August? Here are some happenings to check out!
  1. Shop, shop, shop! July and August are the biggest sale months in HK; all the stores take anywhere from 50% to 70% off the original price. It's better to go earlier, though, because even though prices are at their lowest in August, sizes are a little harder to find.

  2. Want to get wet and wild? Slip and slide at Ocean Park's Summer Splash 2010. Throw a swimsuit on and go on the tallest, longest inflatable slide in the world. (It's 11 meters tall and 54 meters long!) If you're visiting Hong Kong with friends, have a great time battling it out on their 10,000 square foot water gun battlefield. Catch one of their death-defying high dive shows and party hard at their Foam Rave. It runs from July 1 until August 31.

  3. Are you a budding photographer? Take the Insect Photography workshop on July 17, 2010 at the Hong Kong Wetland Park. If you just want to take a look, go on one of their guided insect tours and check out their firefly exhibition.

  4. Do you love music? Discover new bands and listen to sweet new tunes at the Summer Pop festival, which is happening from August 27 to August 29. It'll be featuring many of the best musicians Asia has to offer.

  5. Immerse yourself in the country's culture and watch the Dragon Boat Carnival with the locals! There will be dragon boat teams racing from July 23 to 25. Enjoy lots of food, drinks, games, and bands playing at the San Miguel Beer Garden. You're sure to meet lots of people and have a great time.
