We Ate Through La Union—Here's Your Girls' Trip Eatinerary From Sunrise Coffee To Sunset Cocktails

Published on Jun 13, 2025
Okay, let's get one thing straight: La Union isn't just a destination, it's a vibe. The ocean waves offer the perfect vehicle for the gnarliest rides. That soft, golden sand? It's not just spot to cool down, but also the best backdrop for your swimsuit pics. So, trust when we say La Union is a must-visit destination to cap off the first half of the year. (I mean, did you see our Cosmo Summer Party this year?!)
But beyond the aesthetic spots and the surf sessions, we also love getting to pause and explore a slower, more chill pace of life. Whether that's by grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning, escaping the afternoon heat and having a taco mukbang, or wrapping up the day with a hefty "girl dinner," there's always a spot in La Union where you can unwind and make the most out of your vacay.
Full disclosure: I've hit up La Union twice. And both times? These were with my work friends-turned-IRL ride-or-dies. So best believe our itineraries will always have the perfect recipe for friendcation: good vibes, picture-worthy spots, and, of course, mouthwatering food as priorities LOL.
So to save you from the endless (doom)scrolling and trip planning decision fatigue, we've done the legwork (and absolutely delicious research!) for you. Read on to know some tried-and-true spots in La Union for your next girls' trip.

Start the morning with coffee from
Sunndown Coffee
Location: M86F+FCM, Urbiztondo Road, San Juan, La Union
You can't go wrong with their Sea Salt and Spanish Lattes—they're bestsellers for a good reason. But if coffee or any dairy-filled drinks aren't your jam—and we totally get it—there's also refreshing juices on the menu for you.
P.S. They have merch that ranges from apparel and accessories to coffee paraphernalia. You won't be leaving the cafe without buying at least one! (Yes, we each got a ring or two from their selection.)

Nom on tacos for merienda from
El Chapo's
Location: M86G+H5 San Juan, La Union
So you've conquered the waves (or looked super cute while trying!), and already have the post-surf cravings? Then you should stop by El Chapo's for a taco fiesta. They make both soft and hard shell tacos that are generously stuffed with savory, mouthwatering meat for the post-workout protein you need.
Need something a lil' heavier? They have filling burrito bowls that will fuel you up in no time. You can wash it down with a refreshing glass of horchata to round out the Mexican food experience. *wink*

The rooftop restaurant—conveniently tucked inside the Curbside Villa boutique hotel—offers plenty of open space and roomy dining areas. You and the girls will feel like you're in your own little bubble as you dive into a curated menu of comfort food, perfect for sharing over deep, meaningful convos.
Ofc, they also have great cocktails for your gab sesh! Spirits are high and flowing—the best way to end the day spent with your besties.
