Traveling is all fun and games—until you have to face immigration and navigate the long bureaucratic process of securing travel documents. For Philippine passport holders, this might be an all-too-familiar struggle. Iykyk.
But for those planning a trip to Thailand this year, a bit of relief is on the way. The Thai government is rolling out the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) to simplify the entry process and enhance travel convenience.

What You Need to Know About the Thailand Digital Arrival Card
Thailand is gearing up for a busy 2025, hosting major international events, including the 33rd SEA Games (from December 9 to 20) and the FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship 2025 (from August 22 to September 7) across Phuket, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Bangkok. The 13th ASEAN Para Games is also set for January 20 to 26, 2026. And so, with an expected surge in travelers, Thailand is stepping up its digitalization efforts to improve efficiency at immigration checkpoints.
Starting May 2025, the TDAC will replace the traditional paper-based arrival forms required upon entry. This digital system will allow travelers to submit their essential travel details online before arrival, reducing airport queues and making the immigration process smoother.
"We are integrating efforts across public and private sectors to enhance travel convenience and elevate visitor experiences," Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports, Sorawong Thienthong, said.
"Key measures include increasing airline slots and flight frequencies, implementing an online TM6 immigration system, and upgrading transportation networks to improve accessibility to both major and lesser-known destinations," he added.
The TDAC will collect essential travel information, including flight details, accommodation, and passport data. According to its introductory video, the system will be fully integrated with immigration, airlines, customs, health authorities, and other key agencies.
How to Apply for the Thailand Digital Arrival Card
The system isn't live yet as of writing, but once available, travelers will need to access the TDAC platform online, create an account, and fill out the required information. It'll be similar to the previous TM6 form.
To prepare, travelers should have the following:
- A valid passport (must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay).
- Flight details (arrival flight number and estimated time of arrival).
- Accommodation information (name and address of the hotel or place of stay).
- Basic personal details (name, nationality, date of birth).
