Heads up, beauty girlies and frequent fliers: If you're planning a trip to Thailand in 2025, you'll want to double-check what's in your hand-carry—especially your holy grail skincare products and makeup essentials. Thailand just dropped new travel regulations for liquids, gels, and aerosols (LGAs) in hand luggage, and trust us, you don't want to get stopped at security for that favorite serum!
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) updated the guidelines for airport security. These rules are already in effect as it was published in the Royal Gazette on April 22.

Thailand Released New Regulations For Hand Luggage: Here's What You Need To Know
What's considered a liquid, gel, or aerosol (LGA)?
ICYDK, it's not just your bottled water or moisturizer anymore. The list includes beverages, soups, sauces, lotions, creams, perfumes, oils, cosmetics like mascara and lip balm, and even foamy or sprayable items such as shaving cream and hairspray. If your item is partly solid and partly liquid, say, a lip gloss, it still falls under this category.

Each product must be in a container no larger than 100ml.
Travellers are advised to transfer their products into 100ml bottles or buy travel-sized versions. Contents of liquids, gels, and aerosols must not exceed 100ml.
All LGAs must be packed in a clear, resealable plastic bag.
Thailand's updated rule also limits how much you can carry in total: the combined volume of your LGAs must not exceed one liter per person. To help enforce this, all LGA items must be stored in a single transparent, resealable plastic bag (like a Ziploc), which should be no larger than one liter in capacity.
Only one bag per traveller is allowed, so choose your essentials wisely. That clear bag must be separate and ready for inspection when you reach security.
