The last game of season 80 of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men's basketball tournament was as nail-biting as any do-or-die championship game can be. Game 3, which was held today, December 3, 2017, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City, ended with the Blue Eagles beating the Green Archers to become champions!

The trophy finally goes back to the blue side after a four-year drought. Ateneo won the first game in this year's best of three series, but lost to the Archers in the second game, 92-84.

Ateneo's last UAAP Basketball Championship was in 2012, when they beat the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers.

Thirdy Ravena received the finals MVP title. His averages per game are: 16.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.3 steals.
