After a two-year hiatus, actor JM de Guzman makes his showbiz comeback through a short film with actress Jennylyn Mercado. The now-viral video, posted on December 8, 2017, on the official Facebook page of hardware and electronics company Acer Philippines, has currently more than 2.9 million views.
The short film, which indubitably aims to tug at the hugot-loving netizens’ heartstrings, revolves around JM’s character and his TOTGA (the one that got away), played by Jennylyn. The story? After a few years, the two former flames meet at a reunion and talk about their what-ifs and what-ises.

After seeing these two gorgeous people in one frame, we must say, they should start working on a feature film, stat! In fact, they almost did. JM was supposed to star alongside Jennylyn in the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Walang Forever. Unfortunately, JM was dropped from the project, reportedly due to his behavior problems.
It can be recalled that sometime in 2013, JM entered a rehabilitation program due to his drug use. He again entered rehab in 2015.
On October 15, 2017, JM posted on his Instagram account a photo of his “first sober year achievement award,” dated December 8, 2016. He captioned it: “Two years in December 2017.”
