It's official: the rainy season is here!
PAGASA published a statement on their website on June 14 about the onset of the rainy season. Because of the observed occurrence of scattered to widespread rain showers in the western side of Luzon, rains are expected to soon persist over the rest of the country in the coming weeks.
Luzon will experience near to above normal rainfall conditions in July, while it will be below normal for Visayas and Mindanao. PAGASA also forecasted that the El Niño phenomenon will most likely last until July to August 2019.
"PAGASA will continue to closely monitor the situation and updates/advisories shall be issued as appropriate. The public and all concerned agencies are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts of the rainy season," said the state weather bureau in its press release.
Make sure to always keep safe and dry!
