Chanel Olive Thomas, the Philippine candidate in the Miss Supranational 2017, finished in the top 10 of the eight-year-old international beauty pageant, which had 64 contestants. She also won the Miss Supranational 2017 Friendship Award. It should be noted that Chanel also won the Miss Friendship Award at the Binibining Pilipinas pageant in 2017.
Last year, Philippines’ bet Joanna Eden made it to the top 25. Mutya Datul won the crown in 2013, making her the first and so far the only Filipina with the Miss Supranational title.
Held early in the morning of December 2, 2017 (Manila time) in the spa town Krynica-Zdrój in Poland, the competition saw Miss Supranational 2016 Srinidhi Shetty pass on the crown to Korea’s Jenny Kim. This is the first time for Korea to win in a major international beauty pageant.
