Julia Barretto And Gerald Anderson Have Officially Called It Quits

It's the end of Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson's long-term relationship.

The two celebrities formally announced their breakup through joint statements posted by their respective talent agencies, Viva Artists Agency and Star Magic.

Star Magic wrote in a post uploaded on the evening of September 18, 2025, "Star Magic confirms that Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have mutually decided to end their relationship."

They also noted, "We request the public to respect their decision and refrain from spreading false narratives. Gerald and Julia are grateful to their fans and friends for the love and support."

Meanwhile, Viva Artists Agency revealed that the two have been apart for a while. "On behalf of our artist, Viva Artists Agency confirms that Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson have mutually and amicably parted ways for some time now," their statement read.

Viva went on and stressed with great importance the need for people to end the speculations surrounding Julia and Gerald's breakup. "The circulating speculations in recent weeks regarding the reason for their breakup are unfounded and baseless. We emphasize that only information coming directly from Julia and Gerald should be regarded as accurate, as they are primary parties involved," Viva declared.

They concluded, "Any other claims are merely attempts to ride on the issue or to spread false information."

Over the past couple of weeks, the couple has been rumored to have broken up due to several unconfirmed reports. One of the speculations came from showbiz insider Ogie Diaz, who reported that Julia wanted to end the relationship first, but Gerald still wants in.

It was in March 2021 when Gerald and Julia first admitted their relationship to the public. In a tell-all interview with Boy Abunda, he revealed that Julia was his source of happiness. "Very happy, Tito Boy. It's a yes," he once expressed.

And then just a day after Gerald's dating confirmation, the two were spotted doing relief work for an Aeta community in Iba, Zambales. Two weeks later, on March 17, 2021, Julia openly shared sweet snaps of them at the relief operations and wrote the sweetest caption about her beau, saying, "thank you for sharing your [world] with me @andersongeraldjr."

The two have remained open yet low-key about their romance. Through every season of their careers, the two expressed support for each other—and one of those moments was when Julia had an onscreen reunion project with ex-boyfriend Joshua Garcia.

The actor did not shy away from reacting to inquiries about his thoughts on JoshLia's reunion, "Alam ko na marami silang mapapasaya na mga fans nila. And they are both great actors so alam natin na magiging quality 'yung ipapalabas nilang proyekto," he shared in a quick interview.

The couple appeared to have a good run together as they were traveling together, pursuing their dreams together, and also professing their love for each other. One of the topics that caught the Internet's attention about the couple was their marriage plans.

Time and again, Gerald and Julia have been asked whether they are planning a wedding—or if a secret one has already taken place. In fact, rumors of a ‘secret wedding’ even circulated during their relationship.

Julia addressed the speculation in September 2023, admitting that while marriage is something they look forward to, they are definitely not in a rush.

"I mean, it's something to look forward to, pero ba't niyo ba kami minamadali? I feel like when that moment comes...I feel like it's something to be shared when the two people are ready to share such a thing." Julia quipped in an ambush interview during the Preview Ball 2023.

Meanwhile, ever since questions about marriage arose, Gerald has been clear about his intentions, saying he sees a future with Julia. In 2021, Gerald declared in an interview, "She's the one, Tito Boy. She's the one."
