Michelle Dee Opens Up About Being "Off The Market Emotionally" On Kylie Verzosa's Podcast

Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee is giving fans a candid look into her love life. In a recent episode of Kylie Verzosa's Almost Honest podcast—which is already making waves for its refreshingly real conversations about modern Filipina womanhood—Michelle opened up about her relationship status, emotional boundaries, and what it means to be "off the market" emotionally. ICYDK, Kylie launched the podcast in December 2025 as a safe space for women to speak openly about their truths without filters, from relationships to identity and everything in between.

When Kylie asked the big question about her relationship status, Michelle was straightforward: "I am technically single, but my heart is taken." She clarified that while she and her partner are not officially back together yet, her emotional commitment remains strong. "I'm definitely off the market emotionally, all of that," she added, leaving no doubt about where she stands.

The conversation then moved into relationship dynamics, whether with a man or a woman. Expectations, Michelle explained, naturally shift depending on the partner. "When I'm with a man, expectations are different. When I'm with a woman, the expectations level out because I also like being taken care of. But there are times when I like to take the lead," she said. Michelle emphasized that she doesn't feel the need to play the "man" in the relationship and is happy negotiating who takes the first step—a system she and her partner had "pre-agreed" on.

The episode also touched on Michelle's personal journey with her sexuality. She came out as bisexual in 2023, the same year she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines. "I've identified with that for as long as I can remember. I'm attracted to all forms of beauty, all shapes and sizes," she said, describing her sexuality as an "open secret" among friends and family.

Michelle made it clear that liking women isn't a phase. For her, love has always been about connection, not gender. "It's never about the gender, but always about compatibility. I can fall out of love with a man; I can fall out of love with a woman," she explained.

While Michelle didn't reveal whether she's currently dating a man or a woman, she reflected on what she's learned about love and commitment: "I never really believed in marriage until this last partner of mine. You kind of like play on what you expect, don't expect, what you're able to give, and how you're able to adjust for that relationship or situation."
