ICYMI, beauty and brains seem to run in her blood as she’s the daughter of Miss Chile 1992, who also, serendipitously, met her dad in the pageant! We love an adorable love story, you guys!
In the top 20 introduction, Celeste gushed about her being in the Miss Universe stage as a full-circle moment for her parents. “My parents actually met when my mom was crowned Miss Chile in 1992. My dad was the man who gave her the flowers when she won, and that was the first time he actually saw her. And seven years later, he asked her out. So I think me being here today is kind of just a crazy life experience, that my parents actually met in this pageant,” she revealed.
On her Insta account, the beauty queen opened up more about the ~important~ lessons her parents taught her growing up. She wrote, "At the age of 11, my Dad took me to Haiti to one of the poorest camps in Port-Prince. Rather than showing me the extreme poverty of the place, what he wanted to show me was that even in such difficult circumstances there were also happy children. Your happiness should never depend on your living conditions. And if life blesses you with opportunities you must give back those blessings by helping others. Our mission as a society is that no child grows up without opportunity."
