Sue Ramirez Reveals Exactly Why And How She Introduced Dominic Roque To Her Family

Some women highly prefer that their family approve of their new beau. He has to be someone who can get along well with her family and easily spend time with them, no matter what. That's one dating preference we can't ignore most of the time, and Sue Ramirez agrees.

Sue is currently in a relationship with Dominic Roque, and the couple has been open about it since late 2024. According to Sue, things have been going smoothly, so much so that she introduced Dom to her mom not long after they started dating.

That's something Sue openly told Cosmopolitan Philippines in an interview on May 16, 2025. We asked the Flower Girl lead star how long before she introduced Dom to her family. Sue first emphasized that there's no timeline when it comes to love before candidly saying, "Ako? Oh my god, it was so soon when I introduced Dom. So, we were in Siargao, my mom went there for a weekend, and Dominic was also there. So I introduced him to my mom."

She added that it was also one of the main reasons why she felt comfortable deepening her relationship with Dom. "Isang malaking factor din 'yun kaya din nakita ko na maganda 'yung intentions niya," she said. 

Sue recalled, "Actually siya pa ang nag-open, 'Will I meet your mom this weekend?' So I was touched. 'Dun ko na-realize—that's how clean this person's intentions are because, 'Ready ako humarap sa family mo ah,' nakitaan ko agad ng ganun. That's a good sign."

After all, family approval is something significant for Sue. "Family is of high importance to me. So it will really matter what my family says about my relationship. Of course sasabihin, hindi naman sila 'yung makakasama lagi, but still, your partner needs to adjust also to your family. I'm not saying there are problems now, there aren't really problems now, as in. It's smooth sailing. Sobrang importante sa'kin ng approval [ng family ko] lalo ng mommy ko," she explained.

Thankfully, Sue notes how her family has supported her in her love life, underscoring how much they trust their choices. "My family has always been supportive with me. I think it's because they know how they brought me up. They trust my choices and alam nila na kung sino man ang ihaharap ko sa kanila, and if I decide to introduce someone, this is someone na alam kong kaya kong iharap sa inyo. Hindi lang basta-basta [o] kahit sino," the actress expressed.

Sue and Dom's relationship wasn't on our 2024 bingo card, but now that they're openly dating, everyone's been v supportive of the celebrity couple.

Sue also shares her happiness over her mature relationship with Dom. When asked about how they handle their relationship despite their busy schedules as celebs, Sue responds, "It's so nice also that coming into this relationship, we're both mature na. We understand what we have to do, 'yung mga trabahong kailangan naming gawin. And really, hindi naman 'yun mahirap intindihin sa totoo lang."

She added, "We make sure lang that we're communicating all the time. When we have time, we give each other time. We spend time with each other's families. So magandang foundation din naman na nag-go-grow kayo apart, at saka hindi naman din pwede na palagi na lang kayong together."

In just two months, three of her films are being promoted and released! Sue is starring together in In Between with Diego Loyzaga, and another one of her films is Lasting Moments together with JM De Guzman.

This June, Sue stars in the bold comedy film Flower Girl. The story follows Ena (played by Sue), who loses her vagina—referred to as her "poochy"—after a rude encounter with a trans fairy portrayed by Jervi Wrightson. Ena sets out to reclaim it, but there's a catch: she can only get it back if she finds someone who will love her even without it.
