ICYMI, IU Wore A Dress From A Filipino Designer At The 2025 APAN Star Awards

2025 was nothing short of iconic for Hallyu queen IU. With the resounding success of her drama When Life Gives You Tangerines, the actress is rightfully gaining acclaim left and right. She was recognized at the recently held APAN Star Awards in South Korea, where she was garbed in Filipino designer Monique Lhuillier.

On December 29, IU graced the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in a diaphanous ball gown from Monique's Fall 2025 line. Called the Monaco, the frock was a key piece in a collection that revolved around unbridaled feminity with botanical references. The K-drama star was seemingly floating as she sauntered in layers of white tulle, with bright red rose embroidery catching the gaze of those around her—basically, a walking fairytale.

The look captured IU's inate elegance, which was on full display as she stepped on stage to accept her Daesang (Grand Prize) trophy for her exemplary performance as Oh Ae-sun in When Life Gives You Tangerines. The show itself also won Drama of the Year, with their director Kim Won Seok also being named as Best Director. A huge congratulations to the team!
