Being a member of the royal family is apparently a lot more expensive than anyone could’ve anticipated:A report has surfaced claiming that Meghan Markle has spent an eye-watering amount of money on her post-wedding wardrobe.
The Duchess of Sussex was realistically never going to carry out her official engagements dressed in jeans and an ASOS top but it’s fair to say even the most fashion-forward of people will be surprised by the number on her current bill.
According to the Daily Mail, Meghan has spent £155,575 (or P11 million) on designer outfits from Dior, Givenchy, Prada, and Chanel — with the choices being worn at events including a day out at the Royal Ascot, a meeting with the Queen, and a recent trip to Dublin.
By comparison (and just because it’s completely skewed our perception of money) Kate Middleton is said to have spent £119,000 (or P10.7 million) on her clothes throughout 2017, which is apparently pretty good going for someone attending functions on a regular basis.
For anyone interested about who actually pays for these gorgeous choices, their wardrobe bill is all handled by Prince Charles’ estate. Interestingly enough, Meghan had to cover the cost of her wardrobe before her wedding to Prince Harry took place.
The Ralph & Russo gown that she wore for her engagement pictures reportedly cost somewhere around the £56,000 (or P3.7 million) mark and all the money is said to have come out of her personal account.
Well, we’re currently feeling great about our own online shopping habits.
