One look at Dior's pointy toe J'adior pumps, and you know you have something IG-worthy in your hands (or on your screens). One half of it is purely traditional and fuss-free—while the other is point-and-shoot bait for the millennials of the world.
Presented by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri for her debut Spring/Summer 2017 collection, the heels feature a length of ribbon fashioned as a slingback strap, on which the words "J'ADIOR" are emblazoned.
On Instagram, Chiuri describes the shoes as a "mix [of] the Dior heritage with today's pop culture." The message comes across loud and clear: In nude or black, this style of heel is often considered a wardrobe staple, something to be worn for years to come. That is, until you notice the printed strap and are reminded of its 21st century social media-savvy roots.
So far, women like Kim Jones have had no problem incorporating the shoe into their everyday wardrobes, and it's not hard to see why.
It's the kind of design you can wear with just about anything to just about anything.
Or you can always pull off an Aimee Song or Yoyo Cao and pair it with a dreamy tulle skirt. ;)
